Eligible business applicants may submit an expression of interest application EOI to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Business Immigration MPNP-B. The province of Manitoba may invite business applicants either through the Expression of Interest (EOI) process or directly by the MPNP-B. Applications received by MPNP-B from individuals who have not been invited to apply will be returned unprocessed.

Eligibility Requirement - Manitoba Provincial Nominee Business

  • Minimum investment of at least $150,000 and at least 1/3 of the business.
  • If less than 1/3 of the business, minimum investment is $1 million
  • Must be an active day to day business, not a holding company
  • Owner must take Active management of business
  • Applicant to the MPNP-B Net worth of at least $350,000 CAD
  • Minimum three year’s business or upper management experience in owning or managing a business

The successful MPNP-B applicant must also be prepared to:

  • attend an interview with a PNP-B officer in Winnipeg;
  • make an Eligible Business Investment in Manitoba; and
  • reside in Manitoba along with his/her spouse and dependent family members.

The successful MPNP-B applicant to earn additional ranking points may have to:

  • conduct an Exploratory Visit to Manitoba. The applicant must
  • provide a visit report and other documents to demonstrate the research conducted during this visit; and
    provide the results of a language competency test to demonstrate language proficiency;

Business and investors who want to establish a primary production farming operation, are not eligible to apply through this regular business stream of the Provincial Nominee Program for Business (MPNP-B). They must apply through the Farm Strategic Recruitment Initiative (FSRI) which is a special initiative of the PNP-B for farm business applicants.

FSRI Eligibility - To qualify for the Farm Strategic Recruitment Initiative (FSRI)

Eligibility Requirement - FSRI

  1. have a minimum verifiable personal net worth of CDN$350,000.
  2. have a minimum of three years farm business management or farm ownership and operation experience supported by verifiable documents.
  3. demonstrate adaptability, specifically relating to practical farming skills, technical knowledge and experience in technological based farming practices that will transfer directly to Manitoba’s current primary farm production industry.
